Show Notes:

Episode Ninety-Six: Jim and Ken get together to chat about former Anthrax vocalist Joey Belladonna's first solo record entitled "Belladonna". The record was released on Mausoleum Records in 1995 just a few years after being kicked out of Anthrax.

The album is predominantly thrash metal and features some outstanding vocals from Belladonna. His tone here does feel a little angry, but coupled with those soaring vocals; reaching many high notes proving pound for pound his legitimacy as a premiere singer. Much of the lyrics are pointed squarely at his former bandmates; revealing his frustration from being let go as the singer in Anthrax. Musically, Joey co-wrote the majority of the songs with Paul Crook (who was Dan Spitz's former guitar tech); along with Darin Scott (who played guitar on the album).

Fun Facts: The album cover art by Jeff Dicinger features a head shot of Joey wearing his ceremonial native head dress. This is a nod to his Native American (Iroquois) roots and obviously referring to songs like Indians (Anthrax) and Injun (Belladonna solo).
